The Site
As you enter the home page of Drugstore.com it has a different feel
then most online sites. Where a lot of them are shilling their cheapest
products, or the "hot product" of the month, Drugstore is taking a more
friendly approach. Usually telling you what they are going to give you
FREE, or celebrating a holiday or event. It’s almost like the soft sell
personified on the Internet. The best thing about their home page though
is the top bar, which basically lets you choose the reason why you are
there. Are you there for "Beauty, Wellness, Self Care, Drugs, or Health
Products? No other site online puts all those subjects together like
Drugstore.com. Another thing that impresses me about this site is its Solutions
Section. If there is any question you have, or need a suggestion for a
particular ailment, there site can give you information that is actually
helpful.
Now say I wanted to order Tylenol on
this site. Well the easiest way would be to search "Tylenol. You will then
be taken to a listing of Tylenol products, where of course you will have
to figure out if you want "children’s Tylenol" or "extra strength" ect.
One you have found the right type that you want, you are then taken to
a bigger picture of the product and from there you can easily buy it. I
have never seen a site that has pictures so small on its search listings
that you can still make out as to what it is. I am very impressed with
that feature.

There is not much more obviously to the site then products and information
on those products. The best part of the site is the ease of finding exactly
what you want; there must be 8 different ways to get to Tylenol on the
site. It is easy to find. It is also the easiest site to order from, they
always give you a free item, and their products come on time every time.

Design
If there is a site on the Internet with a better feel, I have not found
it. Drugstore.com has a doctor’s office feel, without the magazines. Their
purple logo is cute, and the overall color scheme certainly fits a drug
and health store. Its good to see that someone can display this feel, without
the perfume scents you usually get at the mall.

Ordering
What else can be said about a store that delivers on time, whose shipping
fees are very reasonable, and who gives free items with every order? Drugstore
also sends an e-mail to let you know what you have ordered, much in the
same way Amazon.com does. There ordering system is easy and impressive.
Overall Assessment
A latecomer to the Internet online store game, Drugstore.com makes
up for it with class and competency. With a great selection of products,
health and drug information, and a well-designed site, drugstore.com is
in a position to dominate the health and drug field on the Internet. Shopping
with Drugstore.com is shopping with a winner.
